Losing your grandparents
Losing your grandparents

I guess it's something that we all have to go through eventually. For most of us it happeneds in our young adult years. The closer you are to them, the more it hurts. My grandma is dying and I feel so sad about it. My mom is trying to keep it from me at the moment. Mostly because I have so many things going on and she doesn't want me to be upset.. also for herself too I'm sure. I use to be close to my grandma until she moved away to be with my aunt. She has congenital heart disease and has been able to cope with it, but now it's taking her life. I feel indifferent like I know it's going to happen, I just don't know the exact point. I wish I could just close my eyes and fast foward to a year from now because then it'll be easier at that point. I feel like I'm watching a car crash in slow motion and there's nothing I can do about it except scream, but even that won't matter. How do you prepare yourself for a death?

I've lost 2 step-grandparents and that was extremely difficult on me. Just a couple months ago though we found out my grandma has terminal cancer. This has hit my family very hard. Although this is difficult you have to continue to pray and just know it's in God's hands and He calls people home when He wants to. It's still very hard though. Just spend as much time with your grandma as possible and cherish those moments.

This is a subject I try very hard to not think about. My grandma isn't in a very good condition and hasn't been for a long time. She's very weak and I'm scared that with just the next cold she wont make it. I love my grandma, she raised me and I cant bare to even think about it. Also the heartache my mother will go through :-/
