There's been an increase in the numbers of sex addicts seeking help and researchers are pointing at the economy.  Apparently business men and women are using sex as a maladaptive coping approach to deal with the financial woes.  There's also been a sharp increase in pregnancy testing also.

This doesn't surprise me. A lot of people to turn to sex just to forget about their problems. For those few minutes they dont have to worry and they feel happy. It's kind of like how some people are turning to drugs to escape reality. Sex is like their drug.

I think sex is a terrible thing to turn to when times are hard. If your married and you turn to your partner then thats fine, but usually people just go to multiple people and personally I think that's even worse than drugs. Drugs can get out of your system, it is hard but possible. But memories of all those multiple partners and the disrespect you had for your body will stay forever. You can change so many things in your life, your clothes, your career even your personality but you can't change your past.
