That's sad to me, but not surprising at all.  You never really know what you're getting with street drugs.  MDMA is extremely popular right now, but you have to go to street dealers to get it, and you don't have a clue what they could've mixed in with it.  Amphetamines obviously have dirty ingredients and you basically get what you pay for.  Cocaine can be eye balled for purity and tasted too, but still you don't know exactly what you're getting.  Prescription drugs are manufactured down to a science, and users know exactly what they're getting.. they know that if it's prescribed by a doctor, it must not be completely deadly.. like other street drugs that have been rumored to kill some users with the first try.  It's no wonder why teens are turning to prescription drugs, they're more appealing, but they need to be advertised as equally addictive and dangerous for teens to understand.

That's pretty amazing. It seems my friends always smoked weed more than anything else because it's really easy to get a hold of. Now though prescription drugs are so easy to get in your hands. Who do you think is to blame for this?

This just reminded me of my old neighbor. They are good family friends for over 13 years now. The youngest boy is a freshman in high school and just got caught at school with 2 ecstasy. They have a 0 tolerance for drugs on campus so he got expelled and has to go to another school for kids just like him. I guess what happened was his friend had a whole bottle of them because his dad is a pharmacy rep so the kid stole them and was selling them. Well my neighbor bought 2 because he was only charging $5 so he thought he could resell them for more. He forgot about them and were in his pockets at school and they fell right out. Although his story does sound fishy we believe him. He is a good kid, but it made me think how sad that story really is. He bought them just because they were cheap and the father who had them should have never made it so available for anyone to steal. I guess sometimes in life though we need to get caught to change our actions.

That story doesn't quite sound right to me.  So, his friend stole the pills from his dad, but pharmaceutical reps don't often carry MDMA, or Ecstasy.  That's not a prescribed medication, so I don't understand why he would even say that he got them from his friend's dad.  Regardless, it should't matter where he got them from.  Just the fact that he made the decision to take them in his possession.  This situation cold've been a lot worse.  These days, because ecstasy became more popular than ever, the laws are harsher and the ramifications for selling them are harsh.  And if he ended up selling them, and that person died, then he could been charged with manslaughter.

That story doesn't seem right to me, ecstasy is not prescribed so pharmaceutical reps cannot be carrying them. Thats like pharmaceutical techs selling cocaine, its illegal. I think the kid just made the story up trying to cover up for a friend. But no matter what the real story is he shouldn't have been holding those drugs whether they were for him or to sell or just holding them for someone else.
This chart surprised me though, I know that marijuana use by teens is very high. Thats obvious its so easy to get and its a normal thing now adays, but I thought perscription pill abuse was much much higher. I cant name one person who hasnt abused them.

That's really scary.

But it's totally true.  I went from smoking pot to a full blown cocain addict.

I'm glad to say I'm sober now... thanks go rehab.  But it saved my life.

A lot of my friends went about the same path.

Maybe you just got your story mixed up. Either way that's horrible that the dad would even have drugs like that open enough to where his child could get to it. And others are right, your neighbor should have never bought them even if he thought he could make money off of it. That's really sad and a pretty desperate way to make money.

Did you know that 40% of Americans have tried MJ and 10 % continue to smoke it!  I thought that was a large number when you actually see the percentages.
