Many of us have heard of the drug scandal with Ben Cousins, a former AFL star.  And there has been much effort in clearing his name, along with effort from the media to clear a drug scandal.  There has been much press about this single player, and now that he's clean, they are still questioning whether or not he can return.  I think this is an unfair decision for Ben because if he's passed the drug tests and is showing effort, then I think that he should be allowed to play.  It could be his big second chance to prove himself.

Basically the guy was acting erratically for a series of months and had several controversial incidents.  He was seen fighting with a guy, and was thrown down a flight of stairs once.  And was later involved in several drug incidents.  And then at one point was pulled over by police, after driving erratically and they found Oxycontin in his possession, and he was taken away shirtless, with the media present.  Cousins again reached the spotlight after being seen with a former Eagles player just before he died.  Cousins then flew to Los Angeles to seek rehabilitation, but several days later checked into an LA hospital after a cocaine binge.  He has recently apologized and admitted that he is getting help for his drug use.

I think that if he passing all of his drug tests then there is no reason to keep him out of the game. I'm sure he hasn't played for a while so wouldn't that count as his suspension. He should be monitored regularly and tested regularly to make sure his drug habits dont return. Playing the sport he loves is probably the most thing that will keep him off of drugs, its good for him. Also if he is a valuable player then its good for us as well!
