Can an Alcoholic Have an Occasional Drink?
Can an Alcoholic Have an Occasional Drink?

There's a lot of self described alcoholics in the media who openly say that they occasionally have one drink. What do you think about this? For very few people this may be okay, but only after years of sobriety already achieved. But for some alcoholics, they don't crave only one drink, they crave ten drinks. And most people realize the first drink is the easiest to refuse. But after having one, the second, third, and fourth get harder to refuse.

I think one drink after being an alcoholic is an automatic relapse. I dont think thats a good idea and I think it probably has around a 90% chance of being an alcoholic again.

you cant believe everything you her in the media also. A person in the media could say theyre not an alcoholic but they do drink every once in a while, they could be lying and could actually be drinking daily. You cant believe what you hear on the media. I think the best way to go is asking a few recovered alcoholic if they can drink and not be an alcoholic again. I think maybe if the person was sober for a long long time, like a decade or more than they may be able to handle a cup of wine. But for an alcoholic to go out to a bar with a bunch of friends I dont think thats a very good idea.

I think it could be fine as long as they're monitored. And if after the first sip if they just get the urge to drink till they'e drunk again then they should stop right then and there. I think it could be possible but I dont think its worth the risk at all. I believe theres no reason to drink again, its not needed in life and why risk going back to a former addiction that was so hard to beat? Be happy and satisfied with the feeling of finally being sober and feeling great, take it for granted and dont waste it not even for a sip of alcohol.
