I was watching Fresh Prince of Belair last night and it was that episode where Carlton turns 21 and his dad sends him and Will to Vegas. Ofcourse Carlton is the responsible one and while Will spends most of his money gambling Carlton wouldn't put in more than a dollar. Carlton then takes away Will's wallet so he doesn't spend more, and tells him to go to sleep so they can wake up early and watch the sunrise on the Hoover Dam. Well Carlton was so excited about going to the Hoover Dam the next day that he couldn't sleep. He went down to the casino and got so riled up and spend ALL of his money, maxed out his credit cars, and emptied out Will's bank account as well. It just shows how addictive gambling can be even to the most responsible people.

I've never seen that episode. Definitely dosen't sound like something Carlton would do, but you're right it can affect anyone. I could never imagine spending that much money and maxing out my credit cards or spending someone's money. I always like it when shows have the 'serious' episode to talk about things that are really happening like alcohol abuse, drug abuse, dieting and gambling. Thanks for sharing, I'll be on the lookout for this episode.

Imagine the people who stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from their work to support their addiction. Usually when you look at a person who suffers from a gambling addiction they dont look like they would be addicts at all. Addiction can affect even the most responsible and reliable people.
