A mother of an 8 month girl, and a todler boy, Amari, left her son in the care of her friends, sharon and robert patterson while she was sick with a fever and caring for her 8 month old baby. Sharon patterson is a drug abuser and has already lost custody of four children. Amari wet the bed and to teach him a lesson Sharon kept him away from all liquids for seven days straight. She even left cups laced with hot sauce around her apartment to teach him a lesson about drining from other peoples glasses. The boy died of dehydration. And although he was a healthy toddler who was able to articulate when he was hungry and thirsty, when he was dropped off at the pattersons, when he was seen at the hospital he was obviously malnutritioned and his bones were sticking out of his neck.
Mr. Patterson got 5 years of probation and Sharon patterson is said to have mental health issues. She has been ruled as incompetent to stand trial and she is receiving psychiatric treatment and onother hearing is set for next month. I think she deserves a life sentence in prison, how could anyone, on drugs or sober have the heart to put a toddler through that. I feel bad telling a toddler they cant have a cookie I cant imagine ever depriving them of food and water and watching them die before my eyes.

OMG this story really surprised me. Do these people have any concience or sympathy? Drugs or no drugs how could anyone have the ability to watch a little toddler suffer like that. And purposely put cups of chilly sauce so that he doesn't drink out of peoples cups? I'm going to be so incredibly angry if she doesn't spend atleast 30 years in jail! And she's trying to plead insanity it better not work. That lady really deserves the worst.

People these days! If I was a mom and had kids and was sick I wouldn't drop them off at a friends house, especially one that has a drug problem. I could never imagine doing that to anyone! Toddlers still wet the bed. It's not that big of a deal. He also might have been nervous in a new setting and bed that wasn't his. I'm still in shock after reading this story.

I wouldn't leave my kids with anyone but my family. I would worry wayyy too much. But if I was in that mothers position I would want that lady to be executed! I cant stand the image of that happening to someone elses kid, imagine if that kid was mine! I would go crazy. Thats really so incredibly mean and heartless. And shes trying to plead insanity pshhh
