A research program researching prescription drug abuse found that teens who abuse controlled prescription drugs are twice as likely to use alcohol, five times more likely to use marijuana, 12 times more likely to use heroin, 15 times more likely to use ecstacy and 21 times more likely to use cocaine.
Also perscription drug abuse is not widely known and not talked about much on the news but it accounts for 23% of all drug related emergency room admissions, and more than 20% of all single drug related emergency room deaths.

dang I didn't know it accounted for that much emergency room admission and deaths! Isn't it also true that a lot of prescription addicts also turn to be heroin addicts? thats what I heard and that also happened to some people I know.

Oxycontin is practically ten times cheaper than heroin, that's why so many prescription addicts are resorting to heroin.  It seems like all drug use is going up for some reason.

you mean heroin is 10 time cheaper?
I remember a girl trying to sell my friend an oxycontin pill for $50. Imagine someone spending that much everyday to fuel an addiciton.
