They don’t diet.
You need to get rid of that diet mentally and realize what you are doing is making a permanent lifestyle change. They eat healthy and not to get a quick fix and quickly lose weight, it’s their everyday habit.  They eat more fruits vegetables, fibers and drink more water.

They keep track of their weight
they step on the scale frequently; it’s not about a having an unhealthy fixation on that number but it’s a way to catch a 5 pound gain before it suddenly turns into a 20 pound gain.

They don’t diet. They exercise regularly
even if you’ve never been a fitness fanatic it’s not too late to get moving. Make it interesting go to classes or exercise with people.

They don’t solve problems with food
almost everyone is guilty of occasionally drowning their sorrows in a pint of Ben and jerry’s or a batch of brownies. Thin people don’t make it a habit. Eating will make you feel even worse after, do something else that gives you pleasure. Watch a movie, call an old friend, or play with kids.

They stop eating when they’re full
they don’t mindlessly eat however much they’re served; they pay attention to internal hunger cues and satiety. They notice when they are satisfied and stop eating even if there’s food left.

They don’t surround themselves with temptation
they don’t stock their cupboards with junk food, thin peoples kitchens tend to be filled with healthy foods. They do have indulgences in the house just not so much that they overeat them.

They allow themselves treats
they don’t deprive themselves like many overweight people. Thin people eat what they crave and sometimes even eating a treat every day. The difference is that they do it consciously and choose exactly what they really want to eat and then eat it slowly and enjoy it.

They eat breakfast
nearly 80% of effortlessly thin people eat breakfast every day. Until you send food to your system your metabolism doesn’t start to kick in.

They move, stand and fidget
thin people are rarely sitting. And that helps them lose more than 350 calories a day.

They don’t skip meals
going more than six hours without food will slow down your metabolism, plus you’ll likely get so desperately hungry that you’ll grab anything (as opposed to healthy) and you end up eating more of it.

Thanks sloppy joe joe!  This is good advice and insight for those trying to change their lifestyle around.  I'm a guy so I don't really pay attention to diets and such, and weight hasn't ever really been a big factor in my life.  Being thin isn't about dieting and counting calories, it's just about living a healthy life and being happy about your food choices.  A secret I like to live by is, Eat to live, don't live to eat.
To have more, become more.

Another 'secret' of the skinnies is to get exercise in a way that you really love.  I personally hate running, but I love using an oliptical machine, and I enjoy strength training more than anything.  You can really feel the results as your chest and arms are getting stronger, and it burns tons of calories.  But that's just me.  Others enjoy swimming, bike riding, even working out at home, or just power walking your dogs!

Your right doing things that you just enjoy as an exercise is a very good idea. I love to rollerblade and I have so much fun. There's a bunch of canals right by my house and me and my friend always rollerblade there and spend like 3 hours. We have a blast and we dont even think of it as exercise. But when we haven't done it in a while our legs get very sore the next day and its great!

I was reading today about how it's smart to eat about 85% healthy foods and its okay to eat 15% unhealthy food to an extent.  This is a good way of looking at your overall diet, I mean when you look at the food pyramid, that's basically the way it's spelled out.  But unfortunately most people eat 85% unhealthy food, and way less healthy, nutritious foods.  But this is a good, easy way to plan out foods throughout the day.
