The Endorphin Power Company helps people ease back into society from a life of substance abuse. It is a transitional housing program and community center. There are 18 units for people to live in as well as a gym. EPC stresses fellowship education, community service and fitness. Exercise helps you in recovery, it replaces that kick that you used to get from drugs and alcohol, and endorphins can replace that. When you’re on drugs or alcohol the body stops producing endorphins because you’re getting it artificially. EPC also started a music program from kids or adults who come from homes wrecked by substance abuse. Some children have alcoholic parents who really don’t care or don’t have the wherewithal to find this stuff for their children; this program is making it available.
Through sponsors, EPC got a few guitars for students to use in their soundproof rehearsal room. They’re going to keep trying to get instruments and things like that for kids to learn and practice and any performer who wants to come. They want this to be an outreach program and also be part of the music community. It will reach out to children who are less fortunate and who can’t afford instruments; it gives them something to do and keeps them away from drugs. I think this program is a great idea, with just a bit more advertising I’m sure a lot more children will go and do that instead of turning to drugs. This also could help a lot of adults who are in recovery, especially because there are no drugs or alcohol allowed and it’s meant to be for people in early recovery. The ability to live there too will help a lot of people out.

This is so great! I think society is finally realizing the kind of help drug addicts need when in recovery. We all know how easy it is to obtain drugs on the streets nowadays. I hope there are programs like these in every state and can be made available to anyone willing to change their life.

I think this could help a lot of people stay off drugs. endorphins make you happy, happy people probably wont turn to drugs. music, dancing, exercise, all those things give people a happier attitude and set of mind. And this could help a lot of people in recovery. I think there should be more of this all over the world.

Tanning also gives you endorphins. They should have a pool in this endorphin power company as well. I think this is a great safe haven for all people in recovery. Whether they're there to live in or to just spend time in throughout the day.
