Gamblers Can Ban Themselves From Casinos
Gamblers Can Ban Themselves From Casinos

Casinos in some stakes like Oklahoma are taking initiatives to help gambling addicts. There is now a list that the gambler can put themselves on so that they won't be allowed in the casino anymore. Apparently there are hundreds of names on the exclusion lists. There are even some couples that request to be asked to leave if they are over their spending limit. I think this is a great way to get control over a gambling habit. A lot of people go to casinos to subsidize their incomes, but it doesn't work that way. They just end up losing all of their money.

This is a good idea for the casinos to sort of take action. Everyone seems to blame the casinos when someone loses their life savings and their houses, everything. They think the casinos should've been there to stop them, but that's not the situation. The casinos provide a service, and it's up to gamblers whether they want to abuse it or not. I think the list is a good thing though.

I think that is a really good thing but its kind of like babying the gamblers. The casinos have to see how much they spend and keep an eye on them they're like babysitters. People should just know when they're taking things out of hand and when to just stop!! They're adults they should take the reponsibilty and if they're not responsible enough to know when to stop then maybe they shouldn't even gamble at all.

Do they pay to have someone monitor them like that or the casinos do it at will? I think people should pay for this or have family members do this so that the gambler doesn't get out of hand.

I do agree that this is a good idea and I'm actually surprised so many people signed up to be on the list. It seems like when you have a problem that others see you don't necessary see or think it is a problem. I think all casinos should do this. The monitoring of the money is good too so you won't go over a limit you set out to spend.

I think some casinos may not participate in this in fear of losing money. Since they're preventing gamblers from spending more than they normally would. But it could actually bring them more business. I know I would rather go to a casino that will prevent me from spending more than going to a casino that will encourage me. Many others could feel the same way and this system could bring traffic into their casino.

For this to work, I think the gamblers involved and the casinos offering to ban gambling addicts have to both have the right attitudes. And it can give a better name for casinos who actually care about their customers.

I agree with lilsmokey, the gamblers have to be accepting help while the casinos must also be willing to offer help. I think tis a great Idea. they should also have this in bars. that could help out a lot of alcoholics.

I think all casinos should be participating in this. It will make it look like they're actually making an effort to help problem gamblers. And also, it could be a reason for gamblers who've lost millions to not sue, because it's an obvious way of the casinos to say that they offered help. I've heard of more stories of gamblers sewing casinos, it's crazy!

I think its pretty ridiculous when gamblers go and try to sue casinos. Casinos aren't doing anthimg except providing them with ways to gamble. It's the gamblers decision to gamble off they're money, and its their irresponsibility to lose as much as they do. I'm sure for many of them if they sued and won, which for sure not many have, they would go back and gamble it all away! If a person is not mature enough to manage how much money they're spending then they are not mature enough to gamble and shouldn't be gambling!
