Is God Using The Economy To Judge The Nation's Sins?

Is God Using The Economy To Judge The Nation's Sins?

There have been many Christian movements on the Internet regarding the sins of our nation.  We've moved tremendously from principles that this country was founded upon.  The economy is taking a turn for the worse, the stock market is decreasing everyday, and the $700 billion bail out isn't making a difference.  Many people can agree that the one true answer is to turn back to God.  This nation was once greatly blessed by God, but today we let unspeakable things happen everyday.  We slaughter over four thousand babies a day through abortion, we live in rebellion of God's truths and creations.  God is a God of mercy and love, but he is also a God of judgment.
I'm not saying this as unpatriotic, but I feel like our nation has only begun to feel His punishment.  What wasn't right 100 years ago, still isn't right today.  Just because we're living in an age where sex is portrayed everywhere, it doesn't mean we have to support it, and allow it.  I think the solution to turn our country around is to give more respect to God and raise the new generation righteously, so that the world doesn't get worse and worse.

The laws our nation has now don't really allow the country as a whole to do that. We have so many people living here that are athiest. Some people want whats written on money where it says "In God we trust" to be removed. A man wanted the pledge of allegiance to be canceled and never said again because it said "under God" and he didn't want his daughter hearing that. There are so many people here that are trying to just delete God out of our country, and even though the supreme court will back up the believers vs. the non-believers there's not much they can do because of freedom of religion. Whats written in the declarion helps protect their rights and although the majority of the country doesn't want it, God is being reduced in our nation greatly. We cant even pray before a game like we used to, the person on the speaker has to ask to "take a moment of silence".

Our country was founded under God.. I think that we need to take steps toward turning back to him.  There are many things that we've allowed ourselves to become use to.. such as sexually explicit images shown in the media.  Even some states are legalizing prostitution.. all of these are ways that we as a country are turning away from him.  God finally turned his back on the nation of Isreal after they were full of sin without remorse.  Not every single person was guilty, but most were.  And they had to repent and ask for forgiveness and God blessed them.  Our country is still doing good things, but slowly a country can fall away from God and that's a horrible thing.  Many foreign countries look to the US for guidance and support.  We were once the strongest nation in the world, but slowly we are falling behind.

I agree that we should turn our nation more towards God. It's the right thing to do and the only thing that can actually help us greatly is God. He can work his magic and his miracles. But the constitution will not allow something like this. I think thats really wrong, I respect the whole freedom of religion. America isn't made up of one ethnicity, were bonded together, mexicans, indians, arabs, irish, italians... etc. We all have different beliefs and I do agree that a country shouldn't force others to worship anothers beliefs. But I do think that there should be more of God in our country. I think they should teach a religion class in schools, have the parents pick which religion their kids should be taught in. There are so many parents out there who aren't the biggest believers so their kids turn out to be complete non-believers. I trully believe if there was someone there to teach them that could be changed. People may finally learn the importance of right and wrong and how sex, prostitution, drugs, betrayl are all sins and not worth it. I agree if more of our country put their faith in God, and stopped doing so many wrong things God would be able to put his faith in us and help us aswell.
