Do any of you feel like hormones play a big role in your addiction? Not that it causes your addiction, but that it contributes to your stress, anger, and lack of control at certain times. I'm not using it as an excuse to fuel my addiction, but it's just something that makes a big mess of everything. And what's worst, it contributes a lot to me feeling depressed, and in turn, makes me want to drink.

Stress is a big trigger for a lot of people. But how we deal with stress is what really matters. Sure we could all just go and drink, but what does that solve!? Stress is a part of life, but it doesn't have to be a huge part. It is what we make it. Exercise is a good way to relieve stress, and also reading, or simply doing anything that relaxes you. But before even thinking about relieving stress, make sure your priorities are straight so that you're proactively dealing with your stress.

I have a friend who just found out some really bad news that her ex who she was so in love with and still has hope that they will work out was cheating on her the whole time. His best friend who didn't really know about their relationship so he mentioned a lot of things to her. She's been out partying and drinking till she cant walk every night. She told me about it and said its because she is really bothered but I think its so sad and she shouldn't be coping with her stress this way. I think hormones could also put you in the same position that my friend was in and there are various healthy ways to deal with it instead of turning to substances that ease the pain for 5 minutes.

It makes it harder when theres hormones going on. It makes it harder to stay off your substance, and it makes you get angry a lot quicker it just makes things worse. That happens to me usually a week before I start my period. It sucks. But I'll also cry over everything!! There was a commercial on TV for animals who need shelter and they want donations and they made it seem sad, I started crying as if someone died.
