I'm sure everyone has heard of Facebook at least once in their life!  But just in case you haven't, it's basically like myspace but has a few more features and is a little bit more complicated.  Anyhow, it's becoming more popular than myspace and is actually affecting many people's lives, and not in a good way!  These sites have potential to do more harm than good, and can expose people in a way that's not so beneficial.  Some users have let their whole lives be consumed by this single website and that's sad!  The more you use this site, you're building up more and more wasted time and lessening your ability to connect with people.  A few real friends is a million times better than a big list of 'fake friends.'

I know of a few people who are addicted to facebook. They're constantly always on facebook. Whenever you click the chat icon on facebook they're on there. I dont get how they can be so consumed with it. I get bored of it after I reply back to my posts and messages.

It kind of annoys me how some people are constantly on facebook and myspace too. And they keep changing their status as if people are actually that interested to see whats going on in their lives. I know a person who updates their status every hour letting people know what hes doing. But I find it ridiculous because I'm sure no body is interested. Also there is a guy who is in my night class, he brings his laptop with him and stays on facebook the whole time. I dont understand people these days!!!

The thing is some people really dont get bored of it. MySpace has been going on for 4 years and all the people that have been addicted to it since it first came out are still addicted to it now. I know a few people who were always on myspace when it first came out and posting those annoying bulletins that let the world know what they're doing all day long. They still do it till now. Sure they have some phases where they stop getting on maybe for a month or so but then they go right back to it. I think they need to get a steady job and life for them to finally realise that its just a waste of time!

Kind of a side note from what you're discussing, but I was reading an article talking about how recovering addicts shouldn't have a facebook.  It's easy to jump from one addiction into another, and it could lead to what some people refer to as friendship addiction.  The site could also release feelings of rejection through the friend request function.  Acquisition of friends can be another fix, and some users judge themselves by how many friends they have.  Some people may go out of their way to amass friends and that means people bend out of shape into something they're not.
To have more, become more.

A British woman has recently lost her life due to Facebook.  Apparently her husband killed her after she changed her status to 'single' just days after he moved out.  After seeing the status change, he went to her house and stabbed her with a kitchen knife and hit her with a meat cleaver.  Facebook is bigger than ever, it boasts 100 million users, and those users have uploaded over 10 billion photos on the site.

I heard about that too! What a crazy guy! I think if I was the wife though I would've changed my status to single also just to make him mad. But hes a crazy angry man.

I dont see why anyone would kill another for any reason. Something stupid like changing their profile to single, or like in OJ's case his wife cheating on him. It's not right, there's other ways to handle things. And karma always comes around, there's no better feeling than when karma comes back around to the person who hurt you.
