Has anyone heard of these recent new stories about girls in Peru and even the US selling their virginity to make a fortune?  A 22 year old girl in Sacramento, Ca is auctioning off her virginity through a website and is expecting to settle for $1.5 million.  An 18 year old model in Peru was offered $1.5 million for her virginity in order to pay for her families medical bills, but at the last minute came to her senses.  I suspect this new idea will start to become a trend. These girls think that they are making a fortune, but they're belittling themselves and also their families, getting money even to pay for college, it's not ethical and it's disgusting!

Thats crazy! I would never do that! I wonder if they think about God while they do this.

you know what it kind of reminds me of. Have any of you ever seen that movie Geisha? Well the Geisha's would sell their virginities, I read the book and it was so gross because this guy that would always buy the Geishas virginity's would save the blood in a little vial!!

I don't think anything materialistic would ever be worth selling your body in such a way.  I'm sure these girls feel worthless and used after giving themselves up like that.  Your virginity is supposed to be something sacred.  Imagine saving yourself for good reasons like marriage, and then finally deciding to sell it away to the highest bidder.  What is their future husband going to think of them?  These 'women' selling their bodies aren't mature enough to fully rationalize what they're doing.  What's the point of going to college when you're selling yourself online?  Who would want to hire anyone like that!?

I think its something these girls would regret for the rest of their lives. When you think of losing your virginity its supposed to be with someone you love. You've waited your whole life and saved it, not just given it up so easily. I think selling it is like prostitution.

Hello!  This is so interesting to me what this girl is doing.  I saw her on the Tyra Banks show yesterday and it was a very controversial show actually.  There were a few people in the audience that supported what she was doing.  The girl actually has a story behind what she's doing.  She's 22 and has a sister, and they are both in college, waiting to get their masters.  Their father took out student loans using their names and cleaned out both of their banks accounts so they've been left with nothing to pay for college.  The sisters were working on a project based on other girls who were selling their virginities in other countries, and she decided that she wanted to do the same; for educational reasons, and of course for the money.  There were a few of her bidders on the show, and they blatantly said Yeah, I want her virginity, I'm willing to pay over a million for it.  The girl is going through the bunny ranch and having everything arranged so that it's not illegal.  Her sister has slept with over 22 men at the bunny ranch in exchange for money to pay for school.  There are many people who believe what these girls are doing represents pro choice and they are simply capitalizing on their assets.  But there is a majority of people who believe it's straight prostitution and immoral.  The highest bidder has been 3.4 million.

Some girls lose their virginities to someone who doesn't mean anything to them anyway, like a random guy they meet at a party, I think if a girl is just going to lose it like that anyway then she might as well sell it. But if a girl really has wanted to save it for a special person or the girl has strong religious and moral beliefs then thats like prostitution. and she shouldn't go through with it.

I think that she will eventually regret it.  Especially since it's all over the media.  She's been on national television and most people probably think of her as a slut, regardless of her circumstances.  Any guy that dates her will know that she sold herself to the first man she slept with.. I'd feel ashamed if I were here.  There are other ways of getting money for school.  Financial aid... working as a waitress, it's hard work but it's worth it to me.  I'm paying my way through school, and although there are other scandalous ways of getting money, I was raised better than that.

She could get student loans as well. She doesn't have to go sell her body. Imagine her kids look up her name on google and that pops up, how embarassed would she be.

How is this not illegal? This is prostitution! You can't sell yourself for money. Besides this being immoral think of how dangerous this is for the women. They don't know anything about the men they are sleeping with and who even knows if they are really a virgin? They could get STD's from this or what if the person offered them drugs or alcohol? Would they take it? This just seems to be leading them down a rough road in life..

Oh wait here's an idea... get a normal job like the rest of us and make payments to pay off school or whatever debt you may have. I have to pay for school and I'm not prostituting myself for money!

Honestly if I met a girl down the road and even if I fell in love with her if I found out something like this about her. That she sold herself, I wouldn't have any respect for her. I don't think I would even feel the same about her. I would rather be with a person who slept with 100 guys than a girl who sold herself to a guy. And this is something that she will regret forever. How are her parents even OK with this.

I just saw this episode on her show. It's crazy. That one guy who raised his hand and said he would buy it, that's so nasty! I was shocked when I was watching it!

Were they like old men that would buy their virginity? Or just gross guys? I can't imagine an OK looking guy to do that.

There is a cultural aspect regarding the price of virginity.  In some cultures, brides who are virgins receive higher dowries.  Nowadays, 95% of Americans become sexually active by the time they're 25 yo.  I think that's a ridiculous statistic.  So the number of those who remain abstinent is slim to none.  I read a recent report that the highest bidder for this Natalie Dylan girl was 3.8 MILLION!
