Do you guys think that if we kept prohibition going it would've been a good idea? I know there were a lot of gang related issues and so many people smuggling alcohol and stuff but things are differnt now, I'm sure its a lot tougher to smuggle bottles of alcohol and maybe throughout all those years people would've actually stopped? We would've probably had much less drunk driving accidents and alcohol related crimes.

Of course there would be a ton of benefits of prohibition, but I doubt it will ever happen again. People would never allow it, and we make too much money from it. And yah, organized crime would go way, way up.
To have more, become more.

Maybe after a long time like 50 or 60 years some people would've also adapted to not drinking much. Maybe in fear of getting caught things like that. I'm sure many still would drink but not like now where its out in the open. But our economy would probably suffer from it because alcohol is taxed a lot.

Prohibition was a failure. No body stopped drinking people would just drink illegally. Sounds a bit familiar though right? Underage drinkers will never stop drinking, they'll just continue drinking and breaking the law. Same with drug users. Just because drugs are against the law doesn't mean it will stop users, users will continue to break the law and abuse drugs.

I do agree, after a few decades we may not have the whole country not drinking but I'm sure there would be less than how much we have now. People would get used to the fact that its not around and they dont need to drink it. I think we could be living in a much safer and better community if there was no alcohol around.
