A mother, Joanne Hill has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for the murder of her four year old disabled daughter. She drowned her in a bath tub at their home. She admitted she was ashamed of her daughters condition, which meant the little girl, had to use calipers to help her walk.
I think this is so sad and this lady should be given much more than 15 years in prison for her selfish act. My cousin has this same disability; he’s 10 now and still has to use calipers to walk. It’s cruel to kill her. If she was ashamed of her she could’ve at least sent her out to foster care or to live with grandparents or some other alternative not kill her! I don’t understand why people who get charged with murder of a stranger get life in prison, or when they hit a car and the other driver dies. But this woman who allegedly killed her daughter only gets 15 years.  

Did she claim insanity? Usually thats why people who kill their family members get less years than someone who kills a stranger, because no body would usually kill a family member unless they're insane. I hope she regrets it for the rest of her life, spends everyday of her life rmembering it and suffering from that. Thats what she deserves, a life of misery for killing her daughter.

I also have a cousin who is like that too. His mother ended up divorcing my uncle because she couldn't handle it anymore. She couldn't care for him and couldn't take it. She was also embarrassed. She loved her son but couldn't take it. She has visitation rights and gets to see him but she refuses to have him stay with her for over a few days. But atleast she did that instead of killed him like this other mother did! I know if anything happened to my uncle my grandparents would happily take care of my cousin. Both grandparents would, they love him dearly. And I'm sure that little girls grandparents would've done the same, or her father. Her mother could've left her and not just killed her and ended her life. I think she needs 15 years prison and a lifetime getting help! And even that wouldn't be enough. Thats a cruel cruel thing to do.
