UK scientists have found women have dreams that are more emotional and suffer from more nightmares compared to their male counterparts. According to a newly conducted study, although the overall number of dreams does not differ in the two genders, women suffer from a greater number of nightmares.
Because women take their distress and unresolved concerns into their dream world, they dream about emotionally traumatic events more often. Moreover, women remember their dreams better than men due to frequent awakenings.

Findings showed that the loss of a loved one is a recurrent theme in the majority of women's nightmares. Women report more disturbing dreams during their pre-menstrual period.

Researchers at the University of the West of England believe the changes in a woman's body temperature during her monthly cycle contribute to the higher prevalence of disrupted sleep and insomnia in this group

This is actually very true, I always get bad dreams before I start my period. But I think thats because during that time I'll get so bothered by everything! I'll cry over everything and it just starts affecting me so I'll also have extremely strange dreams that normally i wouldn't have,

I think women just stress more in general and that could be the reason.  This week school started, and I'm having to get use to a new campus and I've been having horrible dreams!
