A cannabis factory that cultivated more than 100 plants was finally busted yesterday. It was in a house. They rewired the electrics to set up high-powered hydroponic lamps to grow the plants. The house was totally gutted to ventilate the house a pipe had been installed to pump the strong smell of the plants away from the house. There were three rooms converted to cultivate cannabis.
Obvious signs of a cannabis factory are curtains may be closed all the time and there is little activity around the house for long periods of time. I guess that’s the third cannabis factory found in the road this year. Most the houses are rented so they think they can get away with it. The neighbors said they kept on getting power cuts at around 7:30pm and it turned out it was because of a marijuana factory in the road.
What I don’t get is that these people who develop these factories aren’t stupid. They’re smart they know how to work with equipment and science and all that. Why throw away their lives like that??

I'm sure they thought they were going to make a ton of money off of this.  100 plants can produce A LOT of weed to be sold, and every year the plants keep reproducing, it's a cash crop!  But you're right, it's stupid to think they're not going to get caught.  I think I would pick up on my neighbors growing pot.. it's obvious even when people are doing drugs in the neighborhood, let along selling drugs and cultivating plants.  I've heard of people getting on the "money track," where they just want to make money, instead of going to school, or investing to make real money, they just want to make a lot of money really fast.

Im sure everyone wants to make a lot of money really fast. But growing marijuana plants? thats like asking to get caught. I wonder if they think "Hey I'll make a few million off this by the time I get caught i'll just serve about 10 years in jail and come back to living like a rockstar". Maybe they just think its worth the risk.

It might seem like these people are really smart, enough to grow a huge number of plants, but in reality it takes money to get started, not brains.  There are tons of sites online that tell you step by step, how to grow plants, all of the equipment you need, and also how to care about the plants.  It's all there, anyone smart enough to read can grow plans and hook up lights.  I think these people are just thinking about the money in the end.  They must have thought they were going to make millions, like you said.. it's a big risk they're taking and now that they're caught, hopefully it will show others that producing drugs and growing cannabis will definitely get you caught.
