I knew this guy who was always really clean, all his clothes smell nice and clean and he showers everyday. But his sister was OPPOSITE! she was 9 years old and she always smelt bad, I had to stay with them for a month, I really think about 2 weeks went by where that little girl did not take a shower. And the parents dont ever make her! This seriously amazed me like their daughter literally stank and they wouldn't do anything about it! And one time we were gong to a wedding and her mom was saying "a mom is the most person that wants  her daughter to look pretty" and she went and got her dressed and when she came out her hair was wet. So I was all happy and I asked her if she took a shower, and she was all "no mom just rinsed my hair out and put mouse!" I think that's really so irresponsible for the parents and utterly disgusting! The girl would hug me hello and good bye and I hated even getting close to her. I dont know how her parents could hug her and kiss her from how bad she stank.

I don't really understand what this has to do with addiction, but I agree, that's pretty gross.  I think I would refuse to stay with anyone like that, they could really catch a disease.  I remember this guy from high school, he was sort of punk rock.  Anyways, he was into the whole grunge look and he never took showers, like ever.  He wore the same clothes nearly everyday and this went on for a while.  Eventually he started growing some sort of fungal infection on his back and his dermatologist made him start taking showers.  How gross is that!!?

I know a guy who comes from a family who is unhygenic like your sisters. Ever since he was a kid he was never really pushed to take a bath everyday and neither were his brothers and sisters. Their parents were clean and showered daily but not the kids. They would go a week or 2 and start getting white lint in their hair from how dirty it was and still not shower. He grew up now and he showers more than before but hes living with my friend as of now and his room is by hers. He showers maybe weekly and doesn't brush his teeth much either.  She said she was walking down the hallway and she smelt this really foul smell so she sprayed the halway with oust. And she couldn't figure out where it was coming from. He couldn't smell it but she noticed as he walked by her it was him that smelt so bad and had the whole hallway stink. She didn't know what to tell him and she thought it would be so rude to tell him to go shower. This was a few days ago and she said he still hasnt showered!!

Ew that is sick!! She needs to find a way to tell him nicely to shower. I'd be too embarassed to do that but she needs to. Like when he first wakes up she should ask him hey did you shower? He'll say no and then she should be like you should go ahead and shower and then we'll do something, and just have her keep telling him that everyday. Maybe he'll get in the habit.

We were talking in my polictial science class and the government is now having the teachers teach their elementary classes for how to stay clean. The proper way to brush your teeth and wash your body, how often all of that. and teachrs in elementary school are complaining because they are still expected to teach everything in their curriculum, and its kind of hard to take so much time teaching them to do things such as staying clean because their parents cant teach them, and also teach english history, math science, and p.e. but I think this is wrong, the parents should be the ones teaching their children to not be stinky

It seems like there's always that one smelly kid in the class.  No offense to anyone if that was you! LOL.  But maybe the teachers could pull that student aside and teach them why it's important to stay clean and brush your teeth.  Coming from a teacher, that might actually make a difference to a kid.  I remember in elementary school, they gave us brand new, cool looking tooth brushes and I really wanted to brush my teeth after that.  It seemed so cool!  Also, what really stuck with me, is that my teacher explained to us that our teeth are actually very delicate and they can go rotten very quickly if we don't take care of them.  We will end up having to wear dentures at an early age if we don't brush them everyday.

I remember in 4rth grade I had to sit next to this kid. And his breath stank soooo bad! he always had morning breath. I ended up going to middle school and high school with him and still see him around in college and even till now whenever I see him I get scared to get too close to him because I dont want to smell his breath.

I'm a college student and I was taking a test last week it was  a very difficult test and time consuming but we were limited on time, only 45 minutes. Well the girl next to me smelt like she hadn't taken a shower in a week! I could smell her sweat and I felt really rude just getting up and moving away. Thats all I could concentrate on, time ran out and I had to turn the test in unfinished because I was too distracted by her odor. People need to take care of their hygiene not just for their own benifits but for others. I dont like that girl anymore.

Sometimes people eat certain foods that can make them have bad breath.  Or maybe it's just their culture to eat certain sour foods, and it reflects their body odor.  Also, depending on your diet, if you don't eat before bed then you can have super smelly breath in the morning.  And when dieting, this can be a big issue.  So maybe offer someone a mint if they have bad breath it might give them a hint.  They might be embarrassed, but it will be better for them.

Sometimes people just have stomach problems too and it gives them really bad breath. My step sister was like this. She would get a lot of stomach problems like she'd throw up very easily and get tummy aches easily. And her breath always stank. She would brush her teeth I knew that because we would brush together and she showers. I actually haven't seen her in a few years so I dont know if it went away but she was 15 the last time I saw her and she still had the same problem.

When a person doesn't eat much their stomach starts developing so much acid and that also makes some people have a really bad stench to their breath.

It's not just smell that distracts me during tests its sounds too!! I had a girl in my anatomy class who would eat dry cereal during every test. My teacher made a seating arrangement and I was stuck next to her and her crunching and munching all semester. She would sit there and crunch her cereal during every single test it would drive me crazy! I did bad on 3 tests because I just couldn't pay attention. One day I was having a horrible horrible day, everything was going wrong and then when I got to class ready to take the test and she busted out her bag of cereal I asked her rudely to please not chew her cereal during the test. I felt bad during the test for being rude and I appologized after and I explained to her how I cant concentrate when she just munches on her food. She never brought cereal or any type of food to class again! I was satisfied. Just ask that girl next to you if she smells "that" and then smell her and look at her as if you realized its her and look away. I think she'll take the hint and you weren't being blunt!!
