They were talking about making a high school for gays on the news. MY first thought was that this is a good idea. I’m sure Gays get discriminated against a lot during high school. I’m a liberal and I’m for gay marriages, I’m straight myself but I believe it’s their lives and their choices. I don’t think of a person badly if they are gay but even for me when I was in high school and I’d see two gay guys kissing I’d look at them weird and so would all the other students. So if there was an all gay high school it would make the gays feel a lot better. They feel more comfortable when they’re with people who accept it or who are like them. Gays, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and sexually questioning students could all go there. But as I started hearing more about this and hearing more sides debating, I started thinking that this may not be a good idea after all. First off I believe gays should be accepted and not discriminated against everywhere, and that includes high schools. So why give the other people the pleasure of getting them out of there? They should be free there! Another thing is all those anti-gay activist groups will for sure start protesting right outside the gay school, and they don’t need that! So I don’t know I think it’s a good idea but then again I also don’t. What do you guys think?

I think it's a terrible idea.  Why don't we just make a school for every issue then?  A school for obese?  A school for every isssue is not a good idea.  If they choose that as their sexual orientation, they have to realize that there are going to be issues and not everyone is willing to accept it.  In fact, they don't even have to publicize their orientation and openly express it.  I can understand the willingness to pull them out of public schools, but like you said, it will probably create more problems. 

I agree with lilith. I mean education has changed a lot over the years. Segregation has always been present between race and sex, but I think that is a thing of the past and I don't think there should be separate schools for different things like sexual orientation. We all have problems that we have to deal with and get made fun of for. Separating themselves to eliminate embarrassment is ridiculous. I don't support this.

I think it should be left for them to decide. If they want to pull themselves out of public schools and go to an all gay school then its their decision. But I think it could cause more tension for the gays who stayed in normal schools. The people who make fun of them could keep telling them to go to the all gay school and get out of there. But I think it should just be up to the person. Some gays may like it while some may hate the idea. It shouldn't be for us to decide, its them and their lives.
