My little sister is on the computer ALL day long. She’s addicted to this site called club penguin. She stays on it all day, she faked sick the other day just to stay home and play it. And yesterday is what totally proved her addiction to it, she spilled water on accident all over a laptop, she just got so angry that it was wet (not even caring that she just damaged the whole thing) and went and got the other laptop and started playing club penguin. I don’t know what it is that’s got her so hooked on it but its also not just her. My friends little sister is also the same way. And I was using my sisters phone I read through her text messages and all she and her friends talk about is this stupid site! But here’s the best part… we also have to pay for her monthly membership!

I have never even heard of this site..Do you parents know about this?? I'm assuming they do if they are paying the monthly fee. Did your parents know she was faking sick? These are not good signs. Keep talking and encouraging your parents to monitor her computer use so she doesn't become addicted or obsessive with anything.

I remember when I was in elementary school, everyone was obsessed with the computer game RuneScape.  It's a pretty fun game, it has a lot of features, but it's actually pointless and addictive.  One of my friends logged into his account from years ago and it still worked, he started paying again and he even failed a class because he wouldn't do the work for it. He would just play RuneScape all day!  I finally yelled at him one day because of how stupid I thought the whole game was and how he's letting it ruin his life.  He doesn't play it anymore but his account is still there and his player is very valuable, he could even sell it on ebay for $10,000 if he wanted to.

My friend's little sister told her that a group of girls in town created a MySpace I guess kind of like Gossip Girls and talks badly about a bunch of different people from the high schools. How ridiculous is that? It amazes me what teens do to others teens to bring them down and talk badly about them  and I'm sure their information isn't even correct about them but they are just gossiping.

the gossip girls myspace is actually pretty common. I knew a girl who made a fake myspace of this girl who kissed her boyfriend. They were friends so she had alot of pictures of her and she created a whole myspace with ugly pictures or pictures of her changing or just normal pictures with wierd captions. She added everyone of the other girls friends and posted up a bulletin saying her "other" myspace got hacked into so this is her new one. She would comment all the guys and message them saying really scandelous things and made her seem so promiscious. She gave out her number where she lived everything. I dont really know how it all ended but I think she took it to the EXTREEMEE!!

I myself admit that i am partly addicted to Club Penguin. It is ok when you are new and you don't have any freinds but in many wayz it is like your life in genral. You get all these freinds that mean just as much to you as all your reality freinds and you get boyreinds and girlfreinds and it becomes just like a second life. In some wayz this is good but in others it's not so gr8 - i hav found myself crying over things that have happened on it, and although i hav neva gone as far as faking sick so as to play on it i hav sacrificed a lot in order to play it as much as possible. I hav not been on Club Penguin for 3 weeks but usually i go on for anything from one to three hours a day, if i didn't have restrictions on my computer times this could be streched to six or seven hours.

Thank you for sharing, I'm sure it's been hard for you to stay away from it for three weeks already.  But I'm sure it's just a phase.  You'll get over it eventually, and so will everyone else.  I'm sure you're finding out that there are a lot better things to do with your time.  After a while you won't even miss it, let alone think about it!

I think its very good that youve been off of it for three weeks. Its not good to waste your time on fake online friends when instead you could be making real ones and having a blast with them! Also relationships online? I dont think thats really healthy, What if you actually fell for the person, you know nothing about them they could be 30 year olds playing and telling you they're 10. People should be out having a real life with real people, its much more interesting and fun.

These websites waste so much of kids time. My cousin came over last night and she was on some online game for no joke 3 hours straight. And when it was time to leave she was crying so hard and didn't want to get off. She was over a few days before and I told her theres a "trick" you can do on the computer and all you have to do is press Alt+F4... When she saw her screen exit out she went INSANE!! She knocked her chair to the floor and kept hitting me and pulling my hair I've never seen her go that crazy before and I tease her a lot. But its all because it had her exit out of that ridiculous game its like she's mesmerized.

I think kids should have limited time on the internet and should definitely be monitored. It's not right for them to spend that much time on it and become that addicted. And especially like your cousin that went that crazy because her screen exited out! Does she normally have an anger problem? She definitely has an addiciton problem I can tell. And parents need to play a bigger role in this. They need to watch their kids and make sure their kids don't develop an addiction before its too late.
