In the state of California they are issuing ID cards to legal marijuana users. 70% of counties are using these and it will help identify who can use it and who shouldn't be arrested for having it. Do other states issue these as well?

I think this is a very good Idea. It could stop confusion with cops so a person doesn't get arrested. And peoiple can prove that they are allowed to use it. Also isn't it easy to make a fake perscription?

Regarding fake prescriptions, anyone could type one up on a computer and forge a doctor's signature. But there is a system that has all of the verified users who are authorized by a doctor to be prescribed marijuana. If person isn't in the system, then they could go to jail for fraud and also possession. But why wouldn't someone go see a doctor, instead of going through all of that trouble to make a fake one?

I was learning about this in my class. Did you know that these medical ID cards are so new that cops dont really know how to deal with them. They dont know whether they should take you in and make sure that this card is real or whether to just let you go. And a guy in my class is a cop and he even agreed with this. He said he hasn't been presented with one yet but if he was he really wouldn't know how to react and what actions to take.
