Do you think that more teens these days abuse prescription drugs more than illicit drugs? I know during the 60s drugs became more popular but how has that changed over the years to now? It seems like prescription drugs are so much easier to get a hold of: online, parents medicine cabinet, a friend..the list goes on and on.

I know more people that abuse perscription drugs than normal drugs. And the thing is when we hear of an old friend starting to use cocaine we start feeling bad for them and would love to find a way to help them. But when we hear of a friend who really likes vicodin and takes some all the time, its normal its no big deal at all.

Sadly, that's really true.  I never really noticed that before, but it's common to think that street drugs are worse than prescription drugs.

I know that an addiction to perscription drugs is probably the same as an addiction to street drugs, but I still feel like its a safer addiction even though its not. And just like JC said when we hear of friends addicted to Vicodin were fine with it but when friends are addicted to coke, thats WOW.. I feel like perscription drugs are like a cleaner addiciton too. Its made by doctors and pharmacists, so much research has gone into it. While coke when you get it you dont know whats in it whos touched it what they put in it, how much, nothing, its like eating food you found off the street.
