Mary Frogner, 79, of the 6600 block of 165th Place in Tinley Park, was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said.

Firefighters responded on Aug. 23 at 8:22 a.m. to the 165th Place address, Tinley Park Fire Chief Ken Dunn said.

Apparently, the fire started when Frogner, who was on oxygen, was smoking. Her clothing caught on fire and the people in the house -- reportedly her relatives -- put the fire out, Dunn said.

The fire did not damage the house and no one else was injured.

lol I'm sure she can stop drop and roll, maybe slowly but she probably can. lol that reminds me of a story, my friend has a little brother who is 5 years old, and this kid talks like he's 40! we were at Ihop waiting to be seated and an old man walked in and the kid looked up at him and he was like "what the hell are you doing here go to the hospital your about to die!!" the old man just looked at him and smiled, it was really funny!
But back to this story, I dont understand why she didn't stop drop and roll either, but I guess when your caught on fire and burning you really don't know what to do. I spilled acid on my self in chemistry once and my first action was to try to take off my pants in front of the whole class instead of just getting under the lab shower and rinsing off. thank goodness my friend stopped me. Instead I ran to my car took them off in the car and drove home and took a shower. I didn't spill enough to do any damage so I was safe to do that but my skin did get pretty red and uncomfortable. I'm sure this lady just didn't know what to do either.

This lady is my mother. No, she could NOT stop, drop, and roll. Not even slowly. She was almost totally incapacitated. I miss her terribly and take offence to your comments. How would you feel if it was YOUR mother?
