I never really thought of this before until now, but would it bother you if a sober living facility started in your neighborhood? A sheltered town close by is experiencing this in one of their neighborhoods and it is causing quite an uproar. The neighbors are afraid that it will attract the wrong type of people in their neighborhood and so forth, but I honestly don't know what the big deal is. The people living in the sober living home would have someone at the house at all times and it's not like the residents could just leave whenever. At most facilities you have group meetings, chores and others require you to work so it doesn't leave much free time. What are your views on the subject??

I wouldn't be concerned because these are people who want to get sober.  I'd be scared if there were a safe injection center for addicts.  But addicts in recovery are wanting to have a normal life, and with the town rejecting them, it's not showing support.

I wouldnt get bothered by this at all. Infact I'd be proud of the people living in it. They're doing something that is really really difficult and they deserve all the support they can get. And if they need to be living in a sober living house to get this support then thats what they should do and I support it.

I think I would kind of get bothered by it being in my neighborhood. I think a sober living house is an absolutely great idea but I wouldn't want it in my neighborhood. I live in a very nice neighborhood where most the people are wealthy and respectable and I think (although I dont agree with this) many peoples prespectives would change if there was a sober living house. Many people dont understand much about addiction and they'll just think of the recovered as "junkies" when they're not and they're just getting their lives back together so they could be just as good as you and me or even better!!
