My half sister is extremely extremely chubby and also tall for her age. I dont live with my dad so I was never there when they raised her. But shes 10 years old and she weighs more than me. I'm 19 and I weigh 103, shes 10 and weighs 110. I spent a month with them and I tried to help her out. I went with her to walk the dog everyday, and I tried to keep her away from candy and too much food. But its impossible!!! I mean she'd really give up her life for food. She wakes up and gets pancakes with chocolate syrup all over them. And  not a kids sized portion but as much as a father would eat. she has 2 lunches and if you keep dinner away from her shell tell you that shes barely eaten all day and shes going to die from hunger. Its really ridiculous how much she eats! and I'll never forget the time I saw her eating a big bag of chips right before lunch, I really wrestled with her trying to take the chips away and she wouldn't let me. I think it was really irresponsible of my my dad and step mom to let her be like this and to not be able to control what she eats at all. I dont think any parent should be like this and let their child become like that. She is going to suffer for the rest of her life.

did you tell your parents that it bothers you? unfortunately there probably isnt much you can do about it. its good that you see that it is wrong and she should be eating healthier. its also good that you are encouraging to her and try to show her how to get quick exercise that can be fun. maybe since you dont see your father or sister regularly try emailing them when you read a news article about child obesity and things like that to bring to their attention. good luck.

I dont get how parents can be so irresponsible like that. My aunt is so good at this! She has 2 daughters, one is super skinny and the other has weight issues but still isn't fat. My aunt watches her every bite, if she sees her eating more than one candy a day she'll literally take it out of her mouth. when she sees she has gained weight she puts her on a diet and even excercises with her. Her daughter would be very big if my aunt didn't watch her like this and I think thats a healthy way to do it. Not just let your kid eat and eat just because its hard to tell them no.

I think its really good that your aunt does this. Its usually very very hard for parents to tell their children not to eat. I went through a stage where I gained weight and it was so hard for my mom to tell me. Instead she literally hid every piece of candy we had in the house. And our house is filled with junk food, we buy a lot but dont eat all of it so we have a lot. But I was so sad that my mom thought i was fat and I still wanted to eat candy. I found her hiding spot and would sneak some in my room. I was once sneaking a fruit roll up and she caught me, she let me eat it. but after that I felt really pathetic and I stopped. I started eating healthy foods and I lost the weight. But as for The sister in this story thats really sad! Her parents need to realise this.

Someone really needs to take control of your sister and not let her eat
everything and anything. She should have 3 square meals a day and
healthy ones not pancakes and chocolate syrup. They should jsut not buy any junk food or any food other than healthy food that way she would have no access to any. And they shouldnt even leave left overs in the fridge so that she doesn't go back and forth eating left overs. I think its gross when kids are like this and they need to take charge before the child ends up suffering socially and healthwise for the rest of her life.
