I was reading through these threads, have you noticed most the stories about alcoholic or druggie parents always consist of people talking about the mom, and how bad of a parent she is. But when they talk about dads, its like dads need to get help but they dont really talk about how bad of a parent they are? Also children are usually taken away from the mother, but not usually banned from the father.

I can see how it might seem that way, but it's probably half and half.  But most of the time yah, kids end up with their mother regardless of drug addiction. 

In heatlthy families kids are usually always more attached to their mothers, and their mothers are ususally more around than fathers. Even if you look at animals. My cat just had a kitten and the male cat tries to harm it, while my cat, its mother, sits by it all night and day. She doesn't leave its sight and its like shes just so happy to have it. I think mothers usually always have more affection for their kittens than fathers do. I think thats why judges mention the kids when a mother is being tried for drugs.
