A recent test study showed that sad test subjects were willing to spend four times as much on a nonessential item.  Maybe going shopping when you feel sad is like going to the grocery store on an empty stomach- a really bad idea..!

I cheer up a lot when I go shopping. I forget the thing that was on my mind before. And I jsut stay really excited bout the merchandise I just bought and when I'm going to wear it. I just sit there and picture my self in it. I'm a big day dreamer too hehe so imagine how much fun I have with that.

I'm the same, I get happy when I buy things. But then I get happy again when I wear the things I buy. Its like christmas, you get happy when you buy your friends and family presents because your excited to get your own. And then your excited to open your presents.

It's helpful to go shopping when feeling stressed or sad about something, but it's only wise to do it when you can't control something.  If you're shopping in order to avoid your problems, then that's not good.  But if you're just feeling sad for whatever reason, maybe relationship issues, then shopping can be good therapy.
