Antidepressents weaken driving skills

A team of researchers from the North Dakota University tested 60 people and gave them common driving tests to see how they can react to common driving events like break lights, stop signs, and traffic signals. The test is supposed to check steering, concentration and scanning. And the people were divided into 2 groups. 31 people taking at least one common depression treatment drug and 29 taking no drugs at all. Those taking drugs were divided into 2 groups, high and low doses.
The ones taking no drugs scored 69 points, the ones taking low doses scored 65, and high doses scored 54. This is clear evidence that depression drugs weaken driving skills.

People who need the medication really have no choice.  And a score of 54 isn't significantly lower, only slightly lower.  They may have weaker driving skills, but it's most likely due to anxiety.  I think doctors who prescribe their patients anti-depressants really need to warn their patients of all of the side effects.
