Introvert/Extrovert
Introvert/Extrovert

There are generally two kinds of personalities called introvert and extrovert. I am an introvert person, meaning that rather than not liking people, being with people or external things takes energy out of my system. Introverts gain energy from being alone and going within. If I'm drained and I have to interact with people, it's a killer. It's my time away from people that recharges me. Extroverts gain energy from being with people and things outside of them, and it is a drain for them to spend time alone.
I don't know anyone who became a 'social butterfly' straight after sobering/cleaning up. And alot of people never become 'social butterflies.' What I did was make a couple of good friends and hung out with them. Sometimes it was after meetings and sometimes it wasn't.
Whether you're introverted or extroverted, neither is better than the other, it just simply defines your persona. But it can be helpful to know which you're most like because it can help when recovering. A lot of people are becoming readjusted with themselves after quitting drugs/alcohol. It's important to redefine yourself and not give yourself too much to handle socially.

I'm an extrovert. I get in such a depressed and lazy mood when I'm alone but when I'm with people I forget bout my problems, I laugh and all my energy comes back to me.

Can you be an even mix between the two? Like most people, I enjoy time
to myself once in a while, but I start to miss my friends really fast.
I like spending time with my parents especially, I can be my absolute
self around them. And especially my girlfriend, and best friends. Depending on how tired I am, I can be a loud person, or a pretty chill guy, it just depends what mood I'm in.

It sounds like you're just a well rounded person lol. I think people are what they are, some people have more outgoing personalities than others, and some are more shy.

Your personality is also genetic.

Personality also depends on your parents and their personalities also. If your parents are very wacky and loud, then you'll most likely be the same way because it's what you're use to. But there's nothing wrong with being different. If there is a 'black sheep' in the family, then even though they may be unique, they should still be treated equally. Usually kids will superimpose personalities, especially between their siblings. Like one of them is the clown, one is the smarty pants, so the third kid figures, well I guess I'm the trouble maker!
Mean what you say and say what you Mean, but don't say it Mean!

I remember in a biology class we watched this video about twins that were separated at birth. One was raised by an extremely wealthy family while the other was raised by a poor family who also suffered from drug problems. The one that was raised by the wealthy, healthy, loving family had the same personality and mental problems as the the one raised by the addicts. I thought this was really crazy and it proves that sometimes it's just genetic and thats they way you'll act and behave no matter what your surroundings are.
