I dont get why people get addicted to it.. Does it give you a high? what does it do? I've had to take it before as medication and I didn't feel anything so whenever I hear someone say xanax addiction its like hearing tylenol addiction.

Xanax is a Benzodiazepine, so it's basically a depressant and acts on the CNS as a depressant. It produces a drowsy or calming affect on the brain. A person can definately overdose on this and it's also dangerous to quit after prolonged use.

I had a friend that would take 4 of these a day. I really didn't get why he enjoyed it so much.
