Did you guys know that prescription pills are abused more than marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and ecstasy combined!! When I read that I was like WOW!! I knew prescription pills abuse was bad but not this bad.

I think the people who do abuse these medication dont really think of it as abuse thats why when we hear something like its abused more than all those drugs put together it sounds like WOW!!! But if you think about it I can name about 10 people at the top of my head who enjoy these drugs but i can only name about 2 who do hard core drugs.

I can name a lot of people who use pain killers also. Some of them are stronger than street drugs, that's why people can become so addicted to them. They are a lot easier to get also... either on the Internet or from a friend who has a very large prescription for them.

I think when people take these drugs they also think that it is much safer than street drugs. Personally I have to agree with that. If I had to choose vicodin or cocaine I'd take the vicodin I'd feel more secure. And I know I could be very wrong and Vicodin could be worse.

Thats true. People think that since its FDA approved and a doctor gives it to you that its safer than the other drugs but its not the case and they're just as bad. I can name a lot of painkiller abusers but not very many drug abusers.

Hi every1 :) I've been reading here for a while, finally decided to join..! Anyway, I was just talking about this issue with a friend just the other day. It actually is so ironing how many illegal drugs start out in pharmacies. PCP was one of them, and now it's only manufactured illegally. Isn't that crazy!? Along with marijuana, and heroin... many have ironically started out as pain remedies of some sort.

When all those drugs first came out scientists thought they were miracles. Like heroin was the miracle drug, it could cure ANYTHING! It took a few years for scientists to figure out just how addictive it really was and how terrible it was for a person. I dont think weed did much harm, and I read earlier that it was some paper company and an alcohol company who started saying it was such a bad drug, because it would bring down their production. What is PCP though? It sounds so familiar I just can't remember it though.

Phencyclidine (PCP) was developed in the 1950s as an intravenous anesthetic but, due to the side effects of confusion and delirium, its development for human medical use was discontinued.

An old friend of mine use to use pcp on a regular basis. It's like acid in many ways, it's a real bad hallucinogen. I heard that you can only take a few hits in your whole life before you start getting serious brain damage. Of course you don't think of this while you're taking the drug, but the effects are definitely bad.
