Why are American doctors so reluctant to explore eastern medicine and therapy instead of prescribing so many pills?  Painkillers only trick the brain into not feeling the pain, but through physical/massage therapy, patients can help reduce the pain instead of just blocking pain receptors.  The only problem with this is that it can be expensive, but I think well worth it.  Accupuncture has been used by a lot of people who deal with chronic pain, also herbal supplements and certain foods.   These methods do not carry side effects and you cannot become addicted to them.

my grandma did acupuncture because she lost feeling in her foot. she did multiple treatments of it and has regained more than half of the feeling without taking and medication. it worked for her, although it may not work for all. i think if you want to try this research doctors and make sure they have a good rep for their work.

I agree doctors or even those prescription websites are giving their patients too much medication. When my cousin got her wisdom teeth taken out she got try sockets and was prescribed more vicodin for the pain. She was taking them almost like they were candy because she couldn't tolerate the pain. Some of these medicines are so strong and when you are in pain you are willing to take anything to help you.

I can understand taking medication after surgery, that's reasonable.  But when it's surgery where the pain can be curbed by physical therapy, then doctors should only prescribe half the dose with therapy so that their patients aren't dependant on the drugs.

I think that the doctors are perscribing all these medications instead of giving the patient healthier things such as physical therapy because both the doctor and the patient are looking for the easiest solution and the quickest way. And a patient would probably prefer just taking a pill that will instantly help than go through a month of therapy to get  abit better. Most people are looking for an easy way out even if it means its bad for them. A lot of people dont think about the long run.

This way of helping people is dangerous in the long run.  And most people don't even consider other options because we're just use to always taking medication. These pills almost always have side effects, even though they're very stong, they aren't monitored as much as they should be.

I heard that chinese medicine was really good. the 5 elements, yin and yang, acupuncture all those. Theyre natural and healthy and were not stuffing our body with chemicals.

I heard of a chinese method I dont know what its called but theres like points on the inside of your hand and the bottom of your foot which targets like parts of your body. there are many different points on your hands and feet that you could just apply pressure on a point with a special thin stick and it helps that part of your body, It could help anything from pain to constipation. the points could lead to any part of your body, theres points for your eye, for your nose, for your intestines everything and this stuff actually works. You cant do it yourself tho, you need to have a professional do it or teach you how.
