Do you think it's easier for the extremely wealthy to stay sober than it is for the poor/middle class? Most drug addicts start using when they are well off and have the extra money to throw away on drugs. But if you have no resources, funding your habit is a full time job, maybe even a criminal one. Men are more likely to commit crimes and women are less likely to commit crimes, but instead sell themselves. It's a vicious cycle that drug users with resources have the luxury of avoiding. They may even be able to avoid admitting they're an addict for a while. You're never forced to find out how far you'll go to fuel your addiction.
I kind of think all addicts are the same, emotionally at least. Whether you have money or not, the feelings of self hatred are exactly the same. You want to stop using, but you can't. But if all addicts are the same in that sense, they are different when it comes to staying clean that wealth can help. While getting clean is hard, staying clean in the outside world is harder.

I think it's equally hard for rich/poor addicts to stay sober. Just because poorer addicts have less money obviously, it doesn't mean they don't have as many resources to get drugs. And a lot of addicts get drugs for free.

Rich and poor drug addicts have equally likely chances of relapsing.... but the consequences of each are different. A wealthy drug addict has a long way to fall down to the streets and homelessness. They can have better rehabilitation care when they relapse compared to free treatment a poor person would get.

I think the rich people have higher oppurtunities to getting sober because they can afford the best treatment center and all that. And treatment centers are expensive. But I think that rich people have higher chances of relapsing because they can afford the drugs. And I also think they may use more drugs during their addiction since they can afford it.

If your referring to celebrities as "rich people" I think they have the worst chances recovering and staying sober. Even when they have so many problems on their minds, the media and paparazzi come in and make it even worse on them. How is it ever possible to get sober when you have something like that on your shoulders. I think its amazing when some celebrities do it. But if your referring to rich people as just average rich people I think they have a higher chance of recovery because they can afford the best. Poor people may not think about the programs that could pay for their recovery or that their insurance could pay for it, so they don't even try and recovery is very hard for them. And like you said it could lead them into criminal activity's and they'll end up getting caught with that in the end. It could just all together ruin their lives.
