Dealing with the effects of drug use

After doing drugs for many years and finding your sobriety can still leave you with troubles.  A lot of my friends have struggled with this stage of recovery and either got much better or started using again.  Withdrawals can last months and even come back after they've seemingly stopped.  It might be a good idea to enter an outpatient rehab clinic if you feel you're in danger or relapsing or to join a good support group so that you can move on with recovery.

what helped a lot of my friends after rehab was changing their surroundings. They stopped hanging out with the people they used to do drugs with, and stopped going to the places that they used to  go to to do drugs at too. Some even feel like moving helped them too. A guy I know moved to a whole different city and made new friends and he has been sober for almost 3 years, before that he was in and out of rehab and couldn't sober up. He said it helped him because he wouldn't be reminded of drugs by his friends and he woudn't be at places and remember that he did it there. He also didn't have hook ups at first in the new city. But he said his move there was his smartest decision.

withdrawals are the hardest part of recovery and you never know when they're going to come and go. But your body is an amazing thing and it can over come anything!! so these withdrawals are just little bumps in the way and you'll get through them and live a happy sober life.
