I didn't know this, but official title of internet addiction is IAD (Internet Addictive Disorder) or IOS (Internet Overuse Syndrome) and is still not recognized by the American Psychiatric Association. Some doctors believe though that it should because it has the 4 symptoms of any addiction: excessive use, withdrawal, tolerance and negative repercussions. How do diseases end up in the diagnostic book? Does anyone know? I think with time it will be because it seems like most people these days are struggling with addiction.

I wonder when it will be known as a mental health problem. I bet in a couple years they will recognize it. Internet addiction is always in the headlines and it affects a lot of people.

I think diseases end up in diagnostic books by psychologists voting it to be on there.
