I'm not in recovery, but my sister is. She has been sober now 6 months. Her clean date is 1/2/08, we think she really started the New Year out right and my family and I couldn't be happier. We have never had a better relationship, but I am aware that people relapse and struggle so in honor of her anniversary of 6mo I found this site and am looking for online support and personal experiences you have gone through. That's soo good to hear!  I'm happy for your sis.  My brother has been clean off drugs for roughly three months now.  I'm also very proud.  He's changed so much for the better.  What we do in our family is remain really supportive, and promote healthiness.  We all have gym memberships and try to eat really healthy.  Promoting a healthy lifestyle can make someone desire to stay off drugs/alcohol. 

You both have every right to be proud. It must take such a toll on a family to have someone trapped in an addiction and I bet the feeling is indescribable when they successfully get out of it and turn their lives around. Congrats!

Thats really great about your sister. I think its wonderful when a person sticks to their new years resolution and kicking your addictions butt is probably the best new years resolution to be made.
