Did you know that in Greece 45% of the adult population smokes cigarettes? That's almost half, that's such a large percentage. They are making new laws banning smoking in public places. They have previously tried to ban smoking in cafes, bars and businesses, but the public didn't respond. Now they are making it illegal and going to fine businesses 3000 euros and individuals 300 euros. Hopefully this will help people quit smoking and bring down the percentage. It seems like more and more places throughout the world are trying to ban public smoking, even though for years people have known how bad it is for them!

Haha I know really...!?  Although there are some countries like India that really don't know the harsh side effects of smoking.  They're doing a lot to bring down the smoking rates there too, which are really high.  Hopefully people will start to care about what they're doing to their bodies.  Someone once pointed out to me (while I was smoking) that every puff I take, I'm taking time away from my life.  I can't help but think of that everytime I get a craving, and I'll even tell my friends the same thing.  I can remember the first cigarette I ever smoked, I was so interested, but thouroghly disgusted, I was like, that's it... that's what people are so obsessed with....?  We definately need to encourage each other to quit smoking, we'll never know how long we could've lived hadn't we smoked, or how many people we influenced to smoke... it has to be a global effort to make any kind of impact.
