I always knew she was an addict, but I was never sure what it was all about or what substance. She recently spoke out for the first time about her struggles and addiction and it's a pretty interesting story. Apparently it all started when she got cosmetic surgery on her nose. They prescribed her a pain killer and she got hooked. “I attempted various types of plastic surgery, minutely but enough to stave off this encroaching middle-aged body,” she said, which she tried after a cameraman told her she was developing bags under her eyes.  She even admits to taking some of her sisters pain medicine when she was recovering from a broken bone. I bet this kind of things happens a lot and I think it’s good when celebrities like herself come out about it and share it with people to try and help them and let people know they have been there before.

Jamie also works at an addiction treatment center, which is also a really good thing.  She's setting a good example, because the things celebrities go through with their bodies, happen to regular people too.  It always suprises me how people who are so famous can still feel lonely.  I'm glad she's concerned about helping other addicts, it shows a full turn-around from how she use to take painkillers to feel numb and escape from her pain of feeling unattractive, to now, she seems so happy and accomplished.

I think it's good that she is willing to give back to her community and help others with something she struggled with. I think when celebrities come out with this kind of secret they are putting their career and reputation on the line.
