so my cousin got arrested a couple months ago for selling and possession of illegal drugs. hes been in the county jail and is supposed to be released next month. he has to go to a rehab facility though and be on probation for like 3 years. i was just wondering if anyone or anyone you know has been through a similar experience. my family isnt really sure what to expect.

Well since he's on probation, he needs to be really careful about not getting into trouble, and also with the people he hangs around with.  It's really easy for him to go to jail for something he normally would just have minor punishment for.  And since he's going to rehab, I think your family should be really supportive and loving with him.  He may seem like a different person, but he's really not.  Drugs can change people, but a good family can do wonders for someone.  My cousin went to jail before for crystal meth and he's still in rehab right now, but he's such a better person.  He got really into church and I love him just the same.  It took him a few times through rehab to finally quit.  My aunt and uncle spent thousands of dollars on treatment, but in the end it's worth it.

i think thats a much better situation unlike what i've known here.they do go to jail not to rahab for lack of money.

good luck with everything. I think its good that they are giving him a chance to stay clean. the only thing that I know gets hard is when the person has to assimilate back into the world. they have been sheltered for a while and when they are let go and able to hang out with whoever and whenever it can be a problem. at least he is on probation where they will have an officer monitor him so it should help a lot. i wish you and your family the best.

In Canada a man was spared jail to go to rehab instead. He is a 33 year old who robbed 3 convenience stores in only 6 hours. He is addicted to cocaine and was probably trying to get money to fuel his addiction. Hopefully, this will work for him and maybe rehab will help your cousin too. Keep us posted.
