A football coach in Texas resigned from his position as president of the Texas High School Coachs Association after pawning off school property. He said he needed to leave to seek help for his addiction. I think that must have been really hard for him to do and it's good that he realizes he needs help. Hopefully he can get the help he needs.

Yeah, that's a scary situation when you start pawning off things just to gamble.  I'm glad he made his decision early, it shows people that it's actually possible to walk away from an addiction.

I just read a story about a loved family dr losing everything he ever worked for because of his gambling addiction. A relative said: 'It's been a nightmare. Rachel found out by default when she opened some post by mistake and discovered a loan taken out in their joint names. Up until that point, she had no idea he had a gambling habit. He was a GP and respected member of the community.'

This kind of reminds me of those videos or pictures that show someone before their addiction and then even 3 years later or sooner. They start looking different, acting different and before you know it they aren't the same person period. It's sad to see. At least the football coach is trying to fight.

That is very brave of him to admit that and go into recovery. Especially when hes also letting everyone knwo about his addiction. I hope everyone could be very understanding of this and welcome him back with open arms once he's sober.
