The drinking level in Sydney is apparently through the roof. Politicians say that Sydney is 'drowning in alcohol' and there is no reason pubs should be open 24 hours straight. Alcohol related crimes are increasing and they're taking drastic measures to make an impact. I'm wondering if closing the bars for 24 hours will help at all, won't everyone just drink twice as much the next day? Do you think the U.S. will ever get to this point where alcohol is everyone and they have to stop selling alcohol? I think it's too big of an industry, it'll never happen here...

In certain parts of Egypt, they went as far as dumping all of their alcohol into the Nile! Lots of their hotels have agreed to no longer sell alcohol, which is a big part of their revenue. I thought this was a little harsh, but it's against their culture and we have to respect that. It seems like alcohol is getting out of control all over the globe.
