Can't sleep

Hello out there.  I just terminated a year and a half relationship with my best friend and true love, or so I thought, in late April.  And then I saw that movie P.S. I love you.  I keep dreaming that I am Hilary Swank and I just keep having to let him go.  Also, today I saw him with his new girl.  Being away from home is not a problem, I'm used to moving.  I'm having trouble sleeping and figuring out that dream. If I'm over him, why am I still dreaming over him?  I'm not taking sleeping pills, but I have 2 more days of this semester and I REALLY need my sleep.  Any suggestions?

Since you have a lot on your shoulders with school and everything, I think you should distract yourself with staying busy.  Try to think of other things before you fall asleep because we tend to dream about the last thing we think about before we fall asleep.  Also I'd try dating to get your mind off of him, meeting new people is always good and you may find the right guy in no time.

Try meeting other guys to get over him. Try to keep yourself away from him and all thoughts of him also. I really dont know how to advice you to get over him becauseI'm going through the same problem but I guess pablos right, keep yourself busy. Thats what I'm trying to do.

I just try staying in bed to try and relax and fall asleep. If that doesn't work I usually get on the internet, but that usually never helps me fall asleep because then I get preoccupied and don't realize how late it's gotten. Try reading in bed and just relaxing with your eye closed.

Here are some things that they say help you sleep:
1. Make your bedroom only for sleeping. No tv, computer or reading in bed and keep it cool, dark, quiet and uncluttered.
2. Listen to calming or relaxing music before bed
3. Indulge in caffeine only in the morning
4. Make sure your medicines aren't influencing your sleep
5. Look into sleeping pills-but ask your dr.

Don'ts:
1. Drink before bed
2.  Use over-the-counter drugs

I think your just bothered to see him with a new girl. You probably really liked him when you were with him, but you could stil be over him. Its just something your not used to seeing. Him with another girl. It'll pass once the shock goes away. Try drinking milk before you fall asleep too, it calms you down and helps you sleep.

When I cant fall asleep I try changing positions, maybe sleeping on the other side of the bed or even with my feet where my heads supposed to be. Sometimes even sleeping in a different room helps me fall asleep better. Dont sleep with an animal in your room though, whenever my cat sleeps on my bed I get so worried that im going to roll over and squish it, also you may not notice it but animals also snore, when your trying to fall asleep and you cant any noise no matter how small will keep you awake.

I sleep with my dog every night and she's a pit bull.  Luckily, if I want her to move, she'll wake up and move to the other side of the bed.  But sometimes she's completely in the way where my feet lay and I end up scrunched on one side of the bed.  And yeah, she snores on occasion when her head is at an angle.  I don't recommend this, because it's hard to kick an animal out of your comfy bed straight to the floor!

wow I would not be able to do this. My little sister sleeps in my room whenever she cant sleep and it drives me crazy!! her hand will end up on my face or her foot on my stomach or shell just end up sleeping on my back as if im a pillow. And I cant move because I dont want to hurt her. Animals are smaller than her so it must be even harder. I like to sleep alone or with someone who isn't going to move every 5 minutes and make noises.
