Did you know deprivation of sunlight can cause a person to become depressed. I learned this in psychology last night and its pretty true. If I stay home all week I start to get so bitter and mad over everything and just sick of everything. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yeah that makes sense, because I feel that way even after a few days.  I really do feel more peaceful if I go sit outside and talk on the phone or whatever for a few minutes.  Toddlers can actually develop a disease if they don't get enough Vitamin D which comes from the sunlight.

You know how there are some rare diseases where a person is alregic to the sun, or has to be in a certain temperature or their organs just stop. I wonder if they start suffering from depression. Or do you think that since they've lived with it their whole lives it just doens't affect them much.

I think it's called photosensitivity, but it's mostly if  you have a disease, then the sun makes you more sensitive and can increase your symptoms.  Or certain medications can make you sun sensitive.  I don't think it could actually cause depression, but if you have skin conditions related to sunlight, it could increase your chances of depression.
My mom has sunspots and can't go out during the day very much.. I don't think it affects her very much, but sometimes I'm like lets go for a walk or go to the store and she complains and has to wear a hat.

My mom gets sun spots too. But she spends a lot of time gardening in the sunlight and she wears her dorky straw hat. But when she goes out in public she doesn't. I realsie with her though when she stays home all day she does get a bit depressed, but if she is out and in the sun she is a bit more cheerful.

It's really important to stay out of the sun when you're young.  A lot of my friends are obsessed with tanning salons and I know they're going to regret it when they're older.  Moderation is important :)

I've tried tanning salons but I just get an ugly tan, and it goes away after a few weeks. When I tan in the sun it stays for a long time and its a nice golden color. I get scared too when i'm in a tanning book, after final destination! I pray the whole time while I'm in there.

Edit:
also did you know that tanning in the sun gives you endorphins.

Hmm I didn't know that.  Endorphins are theee best.  I feel good when I tan in the beds, I've only done it twice (2 months) so I think I'm good for like the rest of my life lol.

My mom used to work in a labratory at the basement of a hospital... with no windows!  She said she hated it and couldn't stand not being able to look outside and see the sunlight.  I don't think I'd want a job like that, it sounds horrible.

That sounds like being in a jail and not being able to see the sun for years!
