Okay, this new book called My Beautiful Mommy is over the top! It's all about what children think when their mom gets plastic surgery!! You have to see it to believe it. What are we teaching our children?

It was written by a plastic surgeon, which I thought was odd because shouldn't a child psychologist have had some say in it?  I don't really get the point of it..  Children are going to start looking at themselves and picking apart what's wrong with them also.  If mommy smokes, they'll think it's okay to smoke.  Kids already think their moms are the prettiest, but despite all of this, it's happening everyday and probably will only get worse. 

I think this book is supposed to get kids used to the idea of plastic surgery. It's become such a big part of our lives in so many ways. I can name 7 of my friends at the top of my head who have had this cosmetic surgery, and I bet kids do think it's wierd. One day they see their mom looking one way, but the next shes completely transformed. Its like seeing your mom with black hair when she drops you off at school and she picks u up with blonde hair. Children need to get sed to the idea of plastic surgery and what better way to teach them than with a book?

Thats true I agree. If they grow up reading this book then if their mom decides to get plastic surgery they wont be surprised by it. They wont be questioning her a gizillion questions because the book already talked about it. Its like if a parent gets married a kid doesn't have to ask what is a husband and wife and all the questions about it because they grew up reading books that said "they got married and lived happily ever after" they already know what it is, and with books like these they'll know what plastic surgery is also.
