Robert Downey, Jr. and Recovery

Robert Downey, Jr. and Recovery

This morning I was reading my Sunday morning copy of Parade Magazine and was totally bowled over by the cover story.  It featured the once-troubled and very much addicted (but very talented) actor Robert Downey, Jr., who I liked a lot in such movies as Chances Are and Chaplin, but whose relationshops and career nearly went down the proverbial toilet because of his alcohol and drug addictions.

I took the liberty of going to the Parade website to get the URL of the article so other members could read it: After fighting drugs and demons, Robert Downey says 'I rose from the ashes'    I really found it worth reading.

I heard that he stopped at Burger King once and had like a life changing experience to end his addiction and that is why in Iron Man when he gets rescued and back in the states he says he wants Burger King to symbolize something that really happened in his life.

I sort of heard that story too.  The burger king made him so sick when he was on drugs.. and some how he realized how messed up he was.  I always think it's crazy when people who seem so successful and wealthy have problems with drugs.  A lot of musicians have said it's lonely at the top.

Iron Man was such an awesome movie and it's good seeing him clean. Have you guys seen the incredible hulk? The ending was amazing. but like everyone says so many celebs have addictions these days, it's like what the world lives off of. we will all fall and stumble, it's how you get up that shows your true character.
