Sometimes they can, but more often than not, friends treat you way better than some relatives ever will.

Which brings to mind THIS quote:

"You can choose your friends, but not the family you're born into."

These could apply to anything, but addiction for us ;)

I agree but when it comes to family when you need them the most even if they are untterly horrible to you they ususally will be there. I have a horrible relationship with my father, we fight everytime we talk and I can honestly say I feel no love for him. But If I got arrested and had no way out he would bail me out, when I know some friends wouldn't want to pay for it.
