Does anyone believe in prophetic dreams?

Does anyone believe in prophetic dreams?

I have had many dreams that came true. They were never anything signifigant like someone passing away or winning the lottery, but little things like someone calling a certain time or seeing someone I have not seen in while. Does anyone else have these dreams? Do you think that there is such things as prophetic dreams or are they sheer coincidence?

I ride the fence on this topic. Sometimes I am amazed at the accuracy that some psychics have when they dream, but then scientists always have a way to rebuke it. So personally I don't know. I think possibly there may be such things as prophetic dreams, but I guess I would need to research more and have more hard facts before I can totally believe in it.

A few years after my mom married her second husband (my dad), she started - all of a sudden - having horrible nightmares about him dying in a terrible airplane crash. He was a civilian cargo pilot (a flying truck driver) and she'd been a flight attendant and wasn't afraid of flying.  She would wake up in cold sweats and shiver...and when Dad would ask her what was waking her up she'd say she was worried about her pregnancy.  (She didn't want to worry him or distract him...after all, they were just dreams, right?)

A few months after the dreams started, my dad died in a plane crash on Feb. 13, 1965.

Prophetic dream, or coincidence?

I do, I'm a fairly superstitious person and I often predict things in dreams. Like when I dream about my hometown of Greenock, something will upset me the very next day. I dreamed of it last night so I'm sitting here listening to music, phone off the hook, logged out of MSN and I have a mastiff chained up outside to prevent anyone from ruining my day. Hahaha, I'm crazy.

haha omgosh and I thought I was superstitious. I dont take it quite that far :P. But I do get really paranoid about my dreams. I really believe that theres meaning to it. I never did before untill I took art my junior year. I used to tell my teacher about my dreams and she told me what they meant and EVERYTHING she said came true. I wish I could still contact her and ask her what my dreams mean but she moved to Cypress :(

I think a lot of people have this ability on some level.  I get this too, like I'll day dream about seeing someone and within the next few days I'll see them.  Sometimes it's great because if it's someone I don't like, then I can sort of prepare myself for the worst.  The human mind is very strong, unfortunately we'll never know all that it's capable of, but in our dreams it's in complete control, maybe even capable of reading the future.

I think anything is possible but i dont think we can determine the future from our dreams. Sure we may see a few little things that we saw in our dreams happen but we cant really read our dreams because were asleep. We may forget many things when we wake up and our dreams many times have to do with things we think about throughout the day.
