It seems to me that youtube now means that we can watch just about anything we like for all our waking hours. Even if I were to get rid of my TV I'd still be watching rubbish on you-tube.

Do others find this or is it the passivity of TV that's the problem?

Youtube and other viral video sites are extremely addictive. Even my computer illiterate father has become addicted, he used to watch around an hour of TV a day, but now he must spend hours a day on youtube, it’s all he wants to show me when I visit!

I guess it's just one thing after another ;P. I think YouTube can be just as addictive as TV, I just hate it when your addicted to TV then you try to quit and then you eventually get addicted to a computer.

I normally go on You Tube to only listen to music, but i think this can be / get addictive if your use to watching TV a lot although i really still don't find much reason to stay on You Tube a lot.

There a lots of things that you can watch on the internet this internet it self can be a addiction . Its all how you look at it . You should keep a count of how many hours a day you spend on the internet and the TV

I used to spend hours watching videos there, now I only sometimes go there to look for something, youtube was a brilliant idea, but it has certainly made several addicts, if there was only good content, it would be okay, but there is not, so internet addiction is a big problem,

I don't find youtube addictive at all, it is a matter of much much time you spend on youtube, I usually watch think like card trick, webdesign tutorials and educational material, so I find it pretty educative and also a good form of entertainment.

Could be addicting becuase it offers a lot a day would not be sufucuent ot watch everything on it. But it is not all rubish it does peovide good information also i had learned lots of new guitar tricks because of you tube and even learned to repair PS23 because of youtube. It all depends on what you find and finding on youtube.

It depends on the person I guess, youtube has become these days educative, ville is right i have learned many things because of youtube, but there are also many clips that just waste your time, all you have to do is just pick the good ones and enjoy them!

Youtube has lots to offer it could be a place for you to elarn and could be a place also to get addicted but although it would depend from individual if addiction wlil take place.

youtube is really interesting. Its amazing what things you can find on there. Its never ending, you can just go from one topic to another to another and watch like 50 videos on each. Me and my friend were watching it last week and I think we stayed on it for 2 hours till i was falling asleep. I think youtube can definately cause an addiciton.
